If your parents or relatives were to get sick or injured while visiting the United States, you need to have a plan in place to help pay for treatment.
A popular option for this is Visitors Care Plus – a visitors medical insurance plan designed to cover those temporarily visiting the USA.
Visitors Care Plus is flexible. You can purchase it for as few as five days, or as many as 12 months of continuous coverage. You can also renew the plan for anywhere from five days to 12 months, up to 24 months of cumulative coverage.
The policy maximum per injury or illness is $50,000, and coverage is available for anyone up to 79 years of age.
Using Visitors Care Plus insurance is simple. Once you’ve made your purchase, you’ll receive a virtual ID card. You can visit any healthcare provider you choose. If you present the ID card to the provider, they can elect to bill the insurance company directly.
Visitors Care Plus is a Fixed Coverage Plan
With a fixed coverage plan, known as a scheduled benefit plan, you will be responsible for paying the deductible once per policy period before the insurance will pay. Once you have met the deductible, the insurance will pay a fixed amount for each and every procedure. Any costs beyond this fixed amount will be your responsibility.
If the trip ends up being shorter than you originally anticipated, Visitors Care Plus can be cancelled for a $25 fee so long as no claims have been filed. Upon cancellation, you will receive a prorated refund minus the fee.
Visitors Care Plus does provide coverage for coronavirus (COVID-19) just as it would cover any new eligible illness that occurs after the policy’s effective date.
Visitors Care Plus insurance is underwritten by SiriusPoint Specialty Insurance Corporation and is rated A- “Excellent” by A.M. Best.
